Vienna

The 16th May is always a special time and day for myself. Its my birthday! So it was a nice surprise to be attending a seminar in Vienna on this fabulous day.

Tickets where booked and Swiss air awaited to take me to my destination. A short taxi trip to take me to my hotel, where I was to meet up with friends. Vienna is another beautiful city. I spent many hours exploring the sites and shops until late evening. Not expensive, and all you could wish for. The ladies would love the shopping, plenty to see and do. Well worth a weekend should you fancy a small adventure.

The following day I was presented with a present for my birthday, may I just say a very big thank you to all for thinking of me and for your kindness from all who supplied numerous cards and presents.

The sun shine was bright and warm as we set of on a short walk to the seminar venue. A quick change led to a small wait while final preparations where made before the start. Students and teachers from all over Europe were soon training hard, learning a variety of styles from high grade instructors. To my surprise a few familiar faces stood out in the crowd, some high ranking instructors I knew. I spent most of the first day speaking to them and listening to stories of their experience in the martial arts. Allan Ruddick, Terry Wingrove just two of those who helped to entertain and illuminate the first of two exciting days.

A nice buffet was laid on with good food and free drinks for all. Many new friends where made and some old friendships revisited. To all in Portugal, Germany, Spain and Italy a big hello. I hope to see you in the not to distant future.

Yours in Budo
